Hey Dad, I went to the Stones show today
We were a stones throw away
And I was thinking of you
Hey Dad, remember back in the day
When your band used to play
That was really cool
Everybody should have such a cool dad
Not the kind that yells and makes you feel bad
But the time has come and gone
For Dad to rock out all night long
That’s OK, now my mission is clear
I’ll take it from here
I’ll take it from here
Hey Mom, I went to an art show today
It was Van Gogh and Monet
And I was thinking of you
Hey Mom, remember back in the day
When you used to paint
You were really good
I saw a picture of Mom when she was in school
She was pretty, stylish, looking real cool
Now I understand
Why she has to drive a mini van
So now my mission is clear
I’ll take it from here
